The UAE's human resource authority is to open offices in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain and Fujeirah by the year-end.

The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) helped 131 nationals to find jobs in the first quarter of this year, the Gulf News reported. This was out of which 1,237 job seekers who registered in the first quarter of 2002, with 683 making it to interviews," said Tanmia director general Yousef Abdulghani.

The authority has a database of 4,000 national jobseekers. Abdulghani said the organisation was planning to set up a research center to study the labour market and conduct more training courses. Tanmia will evaluate 2000 job-seekers this year.
